We grew this flower in our garden (Zone 9a), so I have some more information for you, courtesy of David!
Common Name: Orange Fringed Tulip (Crispa Tulip)
Scientific Name:Tulipa (Crispa Group)
Hardiness Zones: Zones 3–8
Sunlight Requirements: Full sun to partial shade
Cool Facts: The intricate, frayed-looking fringes on the edges of the petals are a cultivated genetic mutation unique to the Crispa group. These fringed varieties boast unusually thick, weather-resistant petals, allowing them to hold up beautifully in spring rain - as beautifully evidenced by the water droplets captured here. Their natural durability allows them to maintain this intricate shape perfectly, making them exceptional subjects for detailed macro photography.
